Your Employment Rights

 

Employees in Victoria (and Australia) have certain rights in the workplace. These include the right to:

  • Basic rates of pay and casual loading
  • Hours of work
  • Annual leave
  • Personal/carer’s and compassionate leave
  • Unpaid parental leave

When you commence employment, your employer is expected to provide you with a copy of the Fair Work Information Statement. The Fair Work Information Statement outlines minimum workplace entitlements and is part of the National Employment Standards (NES). The Fair Work Information Statement can be viewed here:
